California changes forms requirements for Ballast Water Treatment Reporting

The California State Lands Commission (CLSC) has published updates to the Marine Invasive Species Program, effective October 1st.

From that date all vessels arriving at California ports must submit the Marine Invasive Species Program Annual Vessel Reporting Form once annually, at least 24 hours in advance of that vessel’s first arrival of each calendar year.

After October 1st, vessels will no longer be required to submit

the Ballast Water Treatment Technology Annual Vessel Reporting Form

the Ballast Water Treatment Supplemental Reporting Form

        the Hull Husbandry Reporting Form

For the remainder of this year, if a vessel arrives at a California port for the first time prior to October 1st, then the vessel must submit the Hull Husbandry Reporting Form and the Ballast Water Treatment Technology Annual Reporting Form (if applicable). If a vessel arrives at a California port for the first time between October 1st 2017, and December 31st 2017, then the vessel must submit the Annual Vessel Reporting Form.
