Brittany Ferries suspends passenger travel on new Rosslare-Bilbao route

Ferry operator Brittany Ferries has implemented a number of changes to its schedules as a result of the Covid-19 outbreak.

On March 12th the French government announced steps to protect its citizens. Brittany Ferries said that they therefore had to respond quickly. It needed to prepare for the possibility that many crew might not be available to work, either through self-isolation or because they were caring for family members at home.

There was governmental guidance advising citizens to avoid travel to certain regions of Spain. The measures were therefore designed to ensure sufficient crew were available to operate as many services as possible, while responding to the dynamic political situation in Spain.

Until at least April 9th Brittany Ferries’ Kerry service operating between Rosslare and Bilbao will take only freight.
