Bangladeshi dockyard blast kills two

Two people died in an explosion on Monday July 23rd on board what was described as tanker Desh-1 (almost certainly Deshbandhu 1, ex IMO 8401315, broken up since October 2014), which was undergoing work at the Ocean Dockyard in Shikalbaha, Chittagong, Three others were injured. The five workers reportedly were removing rust from the 1976-built, Bangladeshi-flagged Deshbandhu-1 when the gas cylinder they were using exploded. The three injured suffered burns and were sent to the Chittagong Medical Hospital. The vessel is owned by Bangladesh-based Desh Petroleum Services Company Ltd care of GM Shipping of Dhaka, Bangladesh.
