American Club puts savings from PEME programme at more than $2.5m annually

The American Club has issued a detailed synopsis of the 2017 and 2018 results of its Pre-Employment Medical Examination (PEME) programme and the cost savings which it estimates the programme has generated since its inception in 2003.

The Club referred to the detail it contained on the conditions of seafarer health encountered in various parts of the world and, by analyzing the collective results of the programme over the years in question, how the program had created economic benefits for both Members and the Club which had resulted from its implementation.

The analysis suggests that the programme had deflected illness and illness-related death claims that had  cumulative value of between $2.5m and $3.5m a year.

Meanwhile, the Club has also published an updated price list for its PEME programme, which can be found at the link below.
