African crew members finally get ashore

Cruise ship Carnival Fascination (IMO 9041253), which initially had been refused permission to dock in Wavis Bay, Namibia in order to repatriate about 130 African crew members, was given permission to berth on May 29th.

The ship has been sailing up and down the Namibian coast, looking for permission to dock, after changing from its original destination of Durban on May 23rd.

A charter flight was ready to undertake the repatriation of the crew.

1994-built, Bahamas-flagged, 70,538 gt Carnival Fascination is owned and managed by Carnival of Doral, Florida. It is entered with UK Club and with Steamship Mutual.
