General cargo ship Acorus (IMO 8900684) was detained in Piraeus, Greece, on November 10th during a re-inspection for a previous refusal of access order, which had been imposed in July. It was the Moldova-flagged vessel’s second detention in Greece within 36 months. Under the provisions of section 4 of the Paris MoU, Article 16 of EU Council Directive 2009/16/EC, the ship will be refused further access to any port and anchorage in the Paris MOU region, except a port and anchorage of the ship’s flag State. This refusal of access will become applicable immediately after the ship is authorized to leave this port and anchorage. As this was the second refusal of access order, the refusal of access will last for 12 months. 1990-built, Moldova-flagged, 3,749 gt Acorus is owned by Dalmazia Corp care of manager Donbasstransitservice Ltd Donetska oblast, Ukraine. It is entered with British Marine on behalf of Donbasstransit Service Ltd.
