449kg in cocaine intercepted at Rotterdam port

Two cocaine consignments were intercepted at the Rotterdam port on Wednesday and Thursday last week, June 9th and June 10th, the Public Prosecution Service (OM) has said. In total 449kg was seized by Customs officers during various checks. A batch of 149kg, hidden in a container loaded with mangoes, was intercepted on Wednesday. The ship originated in Peru and was destined for a company in Belgium.

“Presumably, the company has nothing to do with the smuggling”, the Dutch Prosecution said. A second batch of 300kg found in a container that originated in Panama. This shipping container was loaded with cars and was destined for a company in Budapest, Hungary.
