Russian drone and missile attacks on Ukrainian ports kill two

The ports of Pivdennyi and Chornomorsk, in the general region of Odesa, were struck by Russian drones and missiles on January 7th, with two people dying as a result.

In Chornomorsk, Russian drones hit the port, igniting vegetable oil tanks and other containers. At Pivdennyi, a missile strike damaged an administrative building, port infrastructure, and equipment. As well as there being two fatalities, eight other people were injured across both locations.

Both ports remained operational, barring temporary security restrictions, Ukraine’s Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction and Minister of Communities and Territories Development stated. He added that repair works were already underway to repair the damage caused by the strikes.
