Fake PEMEs in circulation, says American Club

The managers of American Club, New York-based Shipowners Claims Bureau, said that it had recently been informed by one of its approved PEME clinics in Romania that there were fraudulent American Club PEME certificates in circulation. The Club recommended that Members “remain diligent and check the authenticity of Club PEME certificates that require an original and uniquely numbered hologram security sticker to be affixed”. The seafarers retain the original American Club PEME form. If Members and their agents are unable to verify the medical certificate directly, they can do so with the clinic or the Managers by confirming the number on the hologram security sticker. If there are any questions or concerns regarding the validity of any American Club PEME form, members can contact Dr William Moore, Senior Vice President and Global Loss Prevention Director at [email protected].
